which friend? the hat or nonhat? we would play a game called "baseball" where you have to hold your hit until the glass comes back around the circle to the person before you. if you dont, its 1 strike. 3 and youre out. in fact, some of my friends would purposely cough. your lungs quickly contract while the smoke is still in there and it forces more into the alveoli. that was damaging though. they werent very responsible stoners. i would try to get everyone to practice restraint and manipulate their tollerance.
